Utopia SACRE Nikolaj Kunsthal

By Cecilie Waagner Falkenstrøm

Utopia is a good non-existing place on the edge of reality. In every moment Utopia is created by our (im)possible dreams. Thus, in order to give form to Utopia we must release our wildest dreams.

Outside the exhibition space the visitors speak their (im)possible dreams into an old telephone. Through interactive technology the visitors articulations of their (im)possible dreams are transformed into moving patterns of sound and light inside the exhibition space – sound and light emerge and reemerge in an ongoing process of creation.

My experience piece Utopia explores the boundary of human imagination. By moving back and forth between different layers of imagination the experience piece attempts to capture an instant in the intersection between reality and impossibility.
